Alberto Has Double Duty on Tuesday |

Alberto begins play at the $75,000 President's Cup (Astana, Kazakhstan) on Tuesday in both singles and doubles. First up on the docket for Berto will be a noon singles encounter against Marco Chiudinelli (SUI). Following his singles match at approximately 3:30 p.m., Alberto and Andrei Plotniy (RUS) take on Denis Istomin (UZB) and Alexey Kedriouk (KAZ) in doubles action.
There is one significant change in the draws for both singles and doubles. Dmitry Tursunov (RUS), who is currently ranked #26 in the world, accepted a wildcard into the President's Cup and will open play as the #1 seed in both singles and doubles. Tursunov and doubles partner Yuri Schukin (KAZ) won their first-round doubles match today by defeating Danjil Braun (KAZ) and Dmitry Resnyanskiy (KAZ) 6-3, 7-6(4). Tursunov plays Guillermo Alcaide (ESP) in his opening round singles match on Tuesday. |
